Who we are

We are building Helsing to keep our democracies from harm. We believe that software – and artificial intelligence in particular – will be the key capability to do just that. Our mission is to attract Europe’s best mission-driven tech talent and apply their capabilities to some of the most complex problems in defence technology.

We are looking for people with their heart in the right place, who share our conviction that our democratic values are worth protecting, for ourselves and for future generations. We are a diverse team of software engineers, deep learning specialists and customer-facing programme managers, working on some of the most challenging problems in the defence space.

We care about our work and mission, and we welcome open and transparent discussions about the use of AI, its benefits and its ethical implications.

Your Impact

Based in Helsing’s rapidly scaling Munich office, you will accelerate every Helsing employee's ability to focus on critical problems in the defence technology domain by acting as the local expert for all matters related to IT hardware, corporate software and infrastructure, and supporting the office networking and AV setup. You'll also have the opportunity to own company-wide projects relating to our technical infrastructure and information security posture.

What you will work on

  • Configuring and operating endpoints, including workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and our communication and collaboration technology
  • Identifying opportunities and recommending solutions to improve the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure
  • Configuring and operating our office LAN and VPN infrastructure in our Munich office
  • Partnering with Helsing's broader IT team on the operation and continuous optimisation of Helsing's corporate, development, and customer environments, built primarily using Microsoft 365 and Azure alongside other SaaS solutions
  • Providing end user support to all Helsing employees, and in particular those located in the Munich office

Who we are looking for

  • Experience in an IT administration or IT support role, particularly supporting Mac, Windows, and iOS devices
  • Great communication skills for engaging at all levels within an organisation
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Experience in the management of network infrastructure, ideally including administration of network- and host-based security tools
  • Ability to work independently, while being willing to ask for help when needed
  • This position may require the successful applicant to apply for and be granted German security clearance and potentially other NATO security clearances

Nice to have

  • Experience in administering Microsoft Teams communication infrastructure
