We are looking for innovative, motivated, and passionate individuals to join our rapidly growing company. 

The HiveMQ Cloud Organization builds and operates our multi cloud fully Managed Service Offering including our free serverless and dedicated enterprise plans. 

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to own Cloud Operations at HiveMQ.

You will…

  • Ensure the HiveMQ Cloud platform and related services customers rely on are always highly available, reliable, and scalable. You live and breathe Customer Obsession. 
  • Lead and grow a team of passionate Site Reliability and Platform Engineers. Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to grow personally.
  • Help define and own our operational metrics, KPIs and service levels alongside the data and means to measure them.
  • Drive quality accountability within the organization with well-defined processes and goals. This includes leading effective postmortems and ensuring actions are followed-up.
  • Engage, influence, and evangelize SRE and platform engineering best practices with development, operational and product teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with our Support and Sales teams to deliver infrastructure and related changes to our customers.
  • Drive capacity planning and budgeting alongside cost management and related opportunities for our Cloud Operations. 
  • Contribute to the overall platform and engineering strategy of HiveMQ.
  • Live a culture of teamwork, quality, growth, drive to action, and excellence.

You have…

  • Product delivery or operations experience in SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) or IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing infrastructure team(s).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Passion about operational excellence and know-how to build an engineering organization that delivers it.
  • Understanding of infrastructure automation, container orchestration and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices alongside Continuous Integration and Delivery.
  • Ability to oversee and improve operational processes, efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Solid understanding of network and system security protocols.
  • Experience in budget management, cloud cost management and vendor management.
  • A systematic but pragmatic approach paired with a high sense of ownership and pride in the work you accomplish as a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
  • A good understanding of how agile software development using Kanban in a self-organized team works.
