The Mid Office Team at IMC is seeking a Mid Office Analyst; in this dynamic role, you'll drive trade reconciliation and settlement accuracy, swiftly resolve discrepancies, and ensure seamless trade flow across platforms in collaboration with IT and trading teams. You'll play a critical part in managing accounts, monitoring margins, and calculating P&L, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and automation in a fast-paced environment.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Perform intraday and next-day trade reconciliation
- Identify and resolve trade/settlement breaks, analyze to determine root causes, and ensure timely corrections at the clearing firm.
- Work with IT and Trading to ensure proper trade flow; onboard new exchanges, clearing firms, and trading platforms.
- Understand the life cycle of a trade from the time we execute to the time it settles in the account, including the fees associated with each transaction.
- Liaise between clearing firms and trading; open new accounts and execute position/trade/cash transfers.
- Monitor high-level account balances and margin/collateral requirements in conjunction with risk.
- Calculate/reconcile daily P&L as well as reconcile monthly invoices with exchanges/clearing/etc.
- Work with IT and trading to establish connectivity to the exchanges
- Quickly learn new tools/procedures/structures and continually look for ways to improve upon them
- Work with large amounts of data and create ad hoc reports as needed
- Maintain an automation mindset, looking for areas of improvement and striving for continuous improvement
- Work in cross-functional teams to create solutions across departments and to improve quality and efficiency within support
- Interact with other areas of support on a daily basis and understand important risk, compliance, finance, and legal topics
Your Skills and Experience:
- 2-5 years of work experience in finance or trading environment preferred
- Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field (B.S. preferred)
- Prior interaction with trading and/or technology groups is a plus
- Database knowledge a plus (SQL preferred)
- Experience with reporting platforms a plus (Qlikview or Power BI is a plus)
- Must have series 7 or be prepared to work towards obtaining a series 7
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adaptable and able to work well under pressure
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Ability to gather and communicate business requirements
- Strong MS Office application skills
