Main Purpose
Here at Indeed Flex - we help people get jobs. To ensure a steady flow of Flexers available, we have to provide exceptional customer service to our Flexers. Indeed Flex’s Finance team’s vision is to provide a scalable financial platform that records accurate transactions to provide a best-in-class experience for our workers and clients. The payroll specialist guarantees that our workers are paid correctly and on time. This is a crucial role in providing customer-facing support and is in a position to offer high-impact results to prevent turnover of Flexers and ensure our statutory reporting obligations are met.
This is a 12 month Fixed term contract.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Process monthly & weekly payroll including, starters, and leavers and upkeeping records
- Processing HMRC forms such as P60’s, P45’s
- Dealing with all aspects of statutory payments and deductions
- Processing information for external third parties, such as Child Support Agency and DWP
- Assisting with the administration of auto-enrolment of pension schemes.
- Speedy and accurate solution of employee/worker payroll-related queries
- Supporting implementation of new processes and procedures, contributing to the successful operations of the business and relationships with key stakeholders
- Liaising with all departments and working towards tight deadlines
- Liaising with financial controller and solving auditor queries
- Ensure adherence to internal and external controls.
- Performing ad hoc tasks to support the finance team.
- Working closely with key stakeholders ( HR, Finance Operations & Operations Team)
- Advising employees on PAYE and NIC matters
- Manual Tax and NI Calculations
- Processing payments by BACS
- Producing and analysing reports
- Undertaking ad hoc projects to drive efficiencies and improvements
Requirements
- A clear understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and PAYE procedures
- Strong verbal communication, including active listening, for accurately answering employee questions and the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Bulk payroll experience 1,000 plus employees per week
- Data management
- Excellent Excel spreadsheets/Google sheets and Google Suite skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good administration, planning, organising, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines and able to use own initiative
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to new business processes and data flows and the impact they have on financial results
