About the Role
We are seeking a talented and creative UX Designer / Data Visualization Specialist to join our team. As a UX Designer / Data visualisation specialist you will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences and designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our data visualization products and applications. You will transform complex data sets into visually appealing and easy-to-understand visualizations, dashboards and reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, gather requirements and create visually compelling data visualizations that provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive and visually compelling data visualizations, dashboards and reports using data visualization tools.
- Transform raw data into meaningful insights through data aggregation, analysis and visualization techniques.
- Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers on product research and vision, translating it into wireframes, mockups and final designs.
- Communicate design ideas effectively. Conduct user research, interviews and usability testing to gather feedback and iteratively improve the user experience.
- Ensure consistency and adherence to design standards and best practices across all data visualization projects.
- Develop and maintain data visualization standards, best practices, templates and documentation.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate team members on data visualization techniques and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in UX design and data visualization.
- Test concepts with users and integrate their feedback. Actively participate in the development of a design system and platform styles.
- Be autonomous in identifying UX problems and devising elegant solutions to them - you’ll be responsible for ensuring a delightful user experience.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a UX designer, data visualization specialist, preferably within a business intelligence or analytics field, +3 years.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX design projects and data visualization work.
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, or other visual design and wireframing tools.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as, ideally Quicksight and/or Tableau, Power BI or similar.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to human-computer interaction.
- Familiarity with emerging design trends, techniques, and technologies.
- A passion for staying updated on industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and the ability to effectively communicate complex data/design concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and best practices (knowledge of SQL and/or Python)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions.
- You have a sense of humour and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
