In This Role, You Would 

  • Partner with Business & Functional Leaders to set and drive strategy, goals, process, and metrics.
  • Overseeing all hiring for the business, covering Commercial, Marketing, Logistics, Services, Data…
  • Overseeing the full Talent life cycle for senior hires, proactively pipe lining brilliant future leadership hires for
  • Manage a team who own finding, assessing, and closing all levels of candidates. Interact with recruiting teams from subsidiaries and international locations to provide a consolidated view of international and functional pipeline.
  • Develop innovative ways to meet Jumia’s expanding and evolving recruiting needs. Build hiring plans based on demand & capacity across several businesses to meet increasing hiring needs for specialized positions.
  • Work closely with business leaders to influence and deliver quality assessment and high touch candidate experience through all aspects of the recruitment funnel by educating and advocating for Jumia’s best practices.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (Business Leaders, Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and Finance Partners) to determine future talent needs and set and drive enabling sourcing strategies; this requires a deep understanding through extensive market research of the channels where we can find the best, diverse talent who fit our technical and cultural demands.
  • Lead and participate in cross-business/cross-company special projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition.

This role can be based in any Jumia’s offices (Nairobi, Abidjan , Casablanca, Lagos or Dubai). Basic Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of recruitment/HR experience in a Corporate in-house recruiting or International recruitment Agency.
  • 7+ years of experience working with recruiting tools and systems, ATS, Internet sourcing tools and resume database.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Organized and pragmatic. Skilled at partnering with hiring teams to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing approaches with an ability to manage customer/partner expectations through a deep understanding of ROI 
  • Experience partnering with global clients and peers
  • Experience creating, measuring and scaling workflow between Candidates, Hiring Managers and the Recruiting team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in english (French and Arabic are a +)
