As our Senior Consolidation Accountant, you'll be at the heart of Jumia's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across our diverse markets. You'll work with a dynamic team to create a clear financial picture that drives informed decision-making at the highest levels of the company.
What you will be doing
- Pan-African Financial Consolidation:
- Lead the monthly consolidation process, synthesizing financial data from multiple African markets
- Collaborate with local finance teams to gather and validate financial information
- Prepare and meticulously review local financial packages, ensuring adherence to IFRS standards
- Implement and refine consolidation adjustments to accurately reflect Jumia's financial position
- Strategic Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop insightful financial reports that illuminate Jumia's performance across diverse African markets
- Contribute to the creation of management reports that guide strategic decisions
- Analyze trends and variances, providing valuable insights to senior leadership
- Intercompany Reconciliation:
- Spearhead the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring alignment across Jumia's operations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, maintaining the integrity of our financial data
- Audit Support and Compliance:
- Act as a key liaison during external audits, showcasing Jumia's financial strength and compliance
- Stay abreast of IFRS updates and local regulatory changes across African markets
- Implement best practices to ensure Jumia remains at the forefront of financial compliance
- Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline consolidation processes through automation and best practices
- Collaborate on projects to enhance Jumia's financial systems and reporting capabilities
What we are looking for
- Educational Background: Degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years in Audit, Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Consolidation within an IFRS environment.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other African languages is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with consolidation software is advantageous.
- Analytical Prowess: Sharp analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting.
