About the opportunity
We are looking for a Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel with a focus on data privacy, IT law and commercial law who will help us shape the legal team at Kadmos.

What you’ll be doing
- Help to drive legal team activities. Support our legal team in helping the management team to consistently iterate upon strategic decisions by providing personal legal opinions and taking care of manifold legal aspects of our business.
- Take care of legal documentation. Prepare, revise and review legal templates and sample documents, and develop sound data protection and IT-related policies. Draft contracts and engage in negotiations with customers and partners.
- Own data privacy and commercial law workstream. Foster your counselling abilities by being the owner and first point of contact for all external and internal stakeholders with respect to data protection as well as commercial law topics.
- Help develop further our regulation & licensing topics. Help our legal team to initiate necessary research and support the process of getting us relevant payment licenses in the UK and EU.
- Support the product expansion. Participate in company-wide projects from the legal side (e.g. crediting, crypto, etc.).
- Develop legal training sessions: Help to build strategic cooperation with all stakeholders and specialists in various departments, in order to design and implement necessary training sessions.
Your profile
- Min. 2 years of professional experience in areas of data protection, IT law, and commercial law (in particular UWG, consumer protection, law on t&cs) either in a renowned law firm or in the legal department of a major financial services provider or start-up. Additional knowledge in financial services regulation is a plus, but not a prerequisite for the job.
- Successful completion of the first and second German state examinations in law with above-average results (16 points or more in the aggregate). A CIPM certification or comparable is nice to have.
- Demonstrated ability to manage legal work in a multi-jurisdictional environment and coordinate and negotiate with external stakeholders.
- Ambitious character with a strong interest in the global (fin-)tech scene as well as legal questions in the context of software development. Prior experience in the financial services sector is not mandatory but is appreciated.
- Fluency in English and German.
