Lenus is looking for a Product Security Engineer

Could you see yourself growing and thriving in a dynamic global culture, working on big and innovative projects that propel the Lenus product toward an impactful vision of making the world a happier and healthier place? Then this could be the dream job you've been looking for.

Who are we looking for?

At Lenus we are making the world a happier and healthier place by empowering online coaches. In a product context, this entails handling sensitive data such as chat messages, health metrics and client files. We have a high degree of security focus on our different engineering teams, but are searching for a dedicated security engineer to spread the best practices and assist in work on security related areas such as authentication and authorization. This means that you will be directly embedded on our Product Team (engineers, UI/UX, PMs, platform engineers) and work hand-on with the security aspects of our Product Platform.

As our Product Security Engineer, you will have a strong collaboration with the Engineering Team, our Software Architect and CIO. Additionally, you will work together with our Legal team to ensure that we deliver a compliant and secure product.

Our stack

At this point, you probably want to know which technologies you can expect to work with, so here you go:

  • Technologies: Express, React, Graphql, Docker, React Native (everything TypeScript)
  • Infrastructure: Heroku, AWS, Google Cloud, PostgreSQL, CircleCI
  • Monitoring: Sentry, Datadog, Cloudwatch

Responsibilities

Communication, training and strategy:

  • Develop a set of security standards and practices (DevSecOps) and assist in implementation in the software development lifecycle
  • Take an active role in formulating and implementing the Product Team’s security roadmap
  • Educating team members on security best practices in Product Development

Engineering and infrastructure:

  • Testing product platform for security vulnerabilities using security principles and frameworks
  • Implementing security initiatives on the product platform or assist engineering teams in fixing vulnerabilities

Proactive detection:

  • Scan for vulnerabilities and prioritize the findings
  • Conduct regular penetration testing of product platform
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, intrusions or irregular behavior

Reactive:

  • Lead investigations into breaches and map out trail of adversary
  • Collaborate with legal team on actions and communications related to security incidents

Experience

  • Professional track record of working with Security Engineering, DevSecOps or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience from software engineering or similar
  • Hands on professional development in a web-based JavaScript/TypeScript/Node stack (ideally also Express framework)
  • Professional experience with investigation of security incidents and conducting penetration tests

Colleagues and friends would agree that you:

  • Have a versatile skill set and experience in working across the full stack - you are comfortable in analyzing HTTP requests, debugging authentication in a Node context, checking JWT handling in the browser and setting up infrastructure on AWS etc.
  • Have a strong understanding of core application security concepts
  • Easily get excited about privacy and security - you search on DuckDuckGo, own a YubiKey and max out on all possible security settings for all products you use
  • Feel slightly uncomfortable with the amount of data Google stores on you
