The Role 

Reporting into the General Manager, we are looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for maintaining the facilities of our care home at Kensington.  

• Daily maintenance tasks in all areas of light electrical, minor plumbing and decorating such as: 
• Patching/regrouting of tiled surfaces 
• Decorating (painting, wallpaper hanging) 
• Light electrical (such as changing light bulbs) 
• Minor plumbing (such as fixing running WC’s and dripping taps) 
• Changing filters (water/air conditioning systems) 
• Ordering, receiving and inventorying for maintenance facilities. 
• Building and facilities Health & Safety coordination and checks: Periodic testing and checks which includes water, PAT testing, emergency lighting /exits/stairwells, condition of fire extinguishers and evacuation tools. 
• Waste Management 
• Preventive and pro-active maintenance planning  
• Coordinating and working with external contractors for building systems, grounds and window cleaning. 
• Documenting periodic tests/checklists and orders. 

Candidate requirements 

• Self-motivated with desire for continual personal development.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• You can work independently (as well as within a team) so self-motivation is very important
• You possess a clean UK driving Licence
• Knowledge of Health, Safety & environmental systems & procedures
• Experience of planning and organising engineering tasks often involving contractor resources.
• Comparable experience of maintenance within an continuous process environment 

Essential Education Requirements 

• A minimum of two years’ post qualification experience working in a mechanical maintenance environment. 
• NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical based discipline or equivalent 
• WRAS approved plumbing course 
• Health & Safety awareness training 

This role is full time, 40 hours per week across Monday - Sunday
