The role

As a Backend Engineer & Tech Lead at Frieda, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our frontend team, product managers, UX/UI designers, medical and regulatory experts during an exciting phase of innovation and growth, building and shaping our new eHealthcare company. You will steer Frieda’s ship from the start and make a big impact on the company's development.

Tasks and responsibilities

Design and implement the backend infrastructure for our health mobile app using Kotlin Spring, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
Lead the management of our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes, adopting best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC).
Bring your expertise in software architecture and design, leveraging your knowledge to architect robust, scalable, and maintainable systems that seamlessly integrate with our mobile app's backend infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with the frontend team, product managers, UX/UI designers, medical and regulatory experts to ensure seamless integration and alignment with our app’s features and objectives.
Spearhead the adoption of security best practices, particularly focusing on the sensitive nature of health data.
Drive continuous improvement by staying up-to-date with technology trends and introducing innovative solutions to enhance app performance and user experience.
Contribute to the strategic development of our technology stack and infrastructure, supporting the company’s long-term goals.

You'll fit great with these skills and values

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development, with expertise in Spring Boot, preferably with Kotlin.
Proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies (e.g. OTC) and experience with cloud infrastructure management.
Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and microservices architecture.
Deep understanding of software security practices, with a focus on protecting sensitive health data.
A proactive and innovative approach to enhancing app performance and user experience.
Analytical mindset with a strong project management skillset and an autonomous working style.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience or interest in mentoring and coaching juniors.
A passion for leveraging technology to improve health and well-being.
