We are looking for a Cloud Platform Lead to help us in scaling both our infrastructure and tooling to support more users and our growing product engineering organization.
What you'll do
As a Cloud Platform Lead at Mentimeter, you will be a hands-on engineer as well as a technical lead of our Platform team, a team responsible for enabling product teams by providing a highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure platform.
You will hold an influential position within the engineering organization, actively participating in technology choices and shaping our platform. Your team's work will empower our product teams to run their code in a scalable and secure manner. This will also mean close collaboration with our Staff Engineers to ensure we set our engineering department up for success. Your team’s decisions will greatly impact Mentimeter’s success, our engineers’ productivity, and developers’ experience as well as .
In this role, you will tackle complex technical challenges related to scalability, performance, reliability, and security, while also iterating on building a robust monitoring system for our production environments. You will work extensively with AWS, Terraform, DataDog, and infrastructure. Some days you will focus on managing incidents and conducting post-mortems, while other days will involve engaging with different teams to understand their requirements and develop technical solutions. You will be thinking ahead to build for the future in order to support the exponential growth of our company. A key part of your role will also be formulating the Platform team’s technical strategy and long-term plans.
Technologies that you’ll be exposed to include AWS, Terraform, cdktf, Ruby, Typescript, Cloudflare and Datadog.
Skills & Requirements
Who you are
You will have several years of experience as a developer with strong software development skills. We believe you have in-depth experience with cloud architectures and specifically AWS. You should also be proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code, promoting best practices and efficiency. An interest in reliability and observability is a plus.
You have a keen interest in cloud technologies and improving engineering experience together with your team. Maybe you are an informal or formal tech lead today, with experience in suggesting or driving improvements and new ways of working in the team and organization. You need to be interested in teamwork, problem-solving, being a good communicator, and evangelizing the solutions your team implements.
Lastly, you should be interested in the opportunity to work in an international environment with 50 different nationalities, where there are lots of learning opportunities and room to grow.
