Join us as a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) in our Navigation team on a shared journey that matters!

You will join the Navigation team, whose mission is to provide our drivers with the best navigation experience that enables them to fulfill our customers’ trips in the most efficient way.

We are a cross-functional team of engineers, designers and domain experts, passionately striving to make a real impact by building meaningful software solutions that our users love.

Our MOIA Navigation team builds navigation systems with great care for technical design and system architecture:

  • The focus is to support drivers in their daily lives on the streets.
  • The team is responsible for building an SDK that consists of a frontend and a backend component working together with other systems to allow MOIA drivers to seamlessly navigate on the streets and bring passengers safely and efficiently to their destinations.

What you will do

Our navigation solutions are meant to provide optimal and seamless support to the MOIA drivers and their customers.

  • You will work in a bottom-up managed, autonomous, cross-functional team that will continuously test new ideas and evaluate their potential.
  • You and your team will work like a startup and take ownership of the whole development cycle - from ideation over technical design to implementation, quality assurance and maintenance.
  • Use Kotlin on the backend and support your fellow frontend Android developers
  • The software you will be working on is key to enabling and defining the MOIA experience.

What will help you to fulfill your role

  • Experience with Kotlin on the backend (or interest in learning Kotlin) and Kubernetes
  • Experience in working with serverless AWS services, Lambda, DynamoDB and SQS
  • Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven communication
  • Knowledge of current trends in software design and DevOps mindset
  • Passionate about developing tailored solutions
  • Good communication skills and interest in being part of highly autonomous and cross-functional teams
  • Fluent communication in English
  • Very nice to have: general interest in Android Development

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role. We embrace individual growth at MOIA.
