The Payment Core team is at the forefront of enabling seamless payment operations for MOIA ridesharing service. As a Scala Developer, you will help facilitate payment workflows by integrating and handling existing interactions with third-party payment providers, manage invoicing and accounting processes, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
One of the most exciting challenges that you will tackle in this role is the decomposition and migration of a payment monolith into smaller, more manageable components. The current payment system, while being highly functional, has grown into a complex monolithic structure, and we are committed to modernizing it to enhance scalability, maintainability, and flexibility.
What you will do:
As a vital member of our team, you will engage in various activities that offer versatile development and learning opportunities. Your daily routine will encompass the following core aspects:
- Innovate with Scala - Develop new features using Scala, with a particular emphasis on both Akka and functional programming flavors.
- Architect Microservices - play a pivotal role in preparing and executing impactful changes across our microservices architecture.
- Code and Technology Ownership - Take ownership of your code and make influential decisions regarding the technologies and tools used to deliver and operate our applications. This freedom to choose empowers you to explore and implement the most effective solutions.

- Proven Expertise in Functional Scala - Your experience in functional Scala, coupled with a deep understanding of its principles and best practices, will be instrumental in creating robust and efficient payment solutions.
- Dedication to Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing - Your commitment to collaboration and the willingness to share your knowledge and insights with your colleagues will foster a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
- Awareness of Current Software Engineering Trends - Staying informed about current trends in software design, event-driven architecture, and DevOps will position you to implement the latest tools and practices, contributing to the innovation of our payment operations.
