The Data Platform is dedicated to ensuring that all teams within the organization have access to the right data resources to enable their respective use cases. We provide, secure, and privacy-compliant manner. You will work at the core of the organization's data infrastructure and interact with colleagues from various departments. We rely on a wide variety of AWS services to build our tools and services, including AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda, and Fargate. Our goal is to enable our users to work as independently and self-sufficiently as possible while adhering to all relevant legal requirements.
What you will do
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in tenders and partnerships. This includes architects from other organisations, external auditors as well as our business development team.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with data foundation teams to enable effective data usage across the organization. Collaborate with the Director of Engineering, tech leads, and platform owners to align on strategies and drive data value generation.

Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable and secure data architectures, establishing a robust foundation for current and future needs.

Occasional Coding: When you and your teams identify a need, dive into implementation and pairing. Share your experiences by demonstrating best practices and mentoring others.
What will help you to fulfill your role

Senior Profile: Extensive years of experience in a senior engineering role, focusing on data platforms and product development. SaaS experience is a plus but not required.
- Cloud Experience: Proven experience in designing scalable data solutions and architectures using AWS

Extensive Data Experience: Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, transformation, and governance, with measurable impact on data initiatives.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Legal and Regulatory Knowledge around Data: Familiarity with privacy regulation like GDPR and experience in implementing compliant data handling processes.
- Strong Software Engineering Skills: Proven ability to convey complex concepts into sustainable code using languages like Python, Typescript, Kotlin or Scala.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English; German is a plus.
