Having been able to build this self-sustaining, profitable business solving problems in Nigeria, we want to help everyone around the world seamlessly trade (or remit) with African businesses and individuals, so we are launching our UK and international financial services’ business which will be headquartered in the UK. Moniepoint GB is going to be a huge, impactful business now, and in the future. 

About the role

Location : United Kingdom (Full-time)

As the Business leader for Moniepoint GB - Payments, you will have overall accountability for leading and managing the product vision, strategy and roadmap for all of Moniepoint GB Payments products. You will take the perspective of “CEO of the product”, responsible for the market vision and development of our Payments products, as well as the general success of the business line.You will be charged with hiring and managing a team of product managers and engineers as well as collaborating with other teams; marketing, on-boarding and support teams to make the product a success. You will be expected to drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership, thoughtful analysis, and decisive action, as well as providing the overall vision for the product roadmap.

Job responsibilities:

  • Product Vision: Define the product vision and roadmap for the Moniepoint GB Payments domain, aligning with overall business objectives and financial goals.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Hire, coach and scale a team of product managers with senior/principal level talent. Lead cross-functional teams (engineering & product) in the development and implementation of new Payments products and features.
  • Product strategy: Maintain the product roadmap. Evaluate and recommend integration opportunities with existing financial systems and third-party platforms.
  • Actualization: Collaborate closely with the full cross-functional team( product, design, engineering, risk & compliance e.t.c) for your line of business to help execute on the strategic vision. Develop and implement robust security and compliance protocols for the domain.
  • Play the critical role of driving the business while bridging the technical and business worlds to drive profitable business growth while managing risk.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in product development preferably in the financial/payment industry
  • Strong technical acumen with an engineering background. 
  • Functional product expertise with mature understanding of payment systems, product life cycle strategies, design and execution.
  • Experience managing a PnL in a GM, product or founder type of role 
  • Experience working in fintech with strong knowledge of B2B payments. 
  • Experience building a B2B FinTech business from its infancy to become a mature, market leading, exponential growth business
