Having been able to build this self-sustaining, profitable business solving problems in Nigeria, we want to help everyone around the world seamlessly trade (or remit) with African businesses and individuals, so we are launching our UK and international financial services’ business which will be headquartered in the UK. Moniepoint GB is going to be a huge, impactful business now, and in the future. 

About the role

Location : United Kingdom (full-time)

As a Frontend Architect at Moniepoint GB, you’ll work directly with the CTO to own the front-end architecture across our platform. You will work across multiple engineering teams to ensure the development of maintainable and scalable products, and help improve the overall customer experience. If you have a solutions-oriented mindset, a strong sense of ownership and are excited about finding creative solutions to complex problems, this is the role for you!

What you will do:

  • Lead the frontend architecture application implementation in collaboration with the broader engineering team.
  • Translate product requirements into architectural documents and diagrams
  • Maintain architectural documents and ensure they are always updated to reflect the current state of the application.
  • Lead implementation of new UX initiatives to support the architecture decision and vision.
  • Ensure coding standards and architecture guidelines are respected and web applications meet scalability requirements. 
  • Research, experiment with various technologies, and provide recommendations.
  • Proactively identify technical debt or improvement at the architecture level.
  • Advocate for improvements to product experience, quality, security, and performance.
  • Perform code reviews and ensures efficient code engineering 
  • Ensure applications are implemented using software engineering best practices
  • Be responsible for the stability and reliability of products under your purview
  • Create and enforce processes that improve developer efficiency and productivity
  • Participate in interviewing other engineers. 
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

To succeed in this role, we think you should have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science,Software Engineering or a related field
  • 7+ years experience in Frontend development, with at least 2 years in a leadership/architect role
  • Experience in software development and coding in React Programming Language
  • Strong understanding of front-end development principles and best practices, including accessibility, performance, and security.
  • Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
  • Understanding of software quality assurance principles
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail
  • High quality organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
