As we are scaling, we are looking for an experienced Financial Manager to join our team of innovative thinkers and contributors! You’ll be leading the accounting effort for our German as well as the initial EU operations. You will be responsible for stringent and diligent reporting to the relevant stakeholders and authorities. Another crucially part is defining and improving processes in a rapidly scaling business across Europe.

What you will do:

  • Leading the accounting and tax compliance (CIT, VAT) effort in our core German market and as well as the initial additional markets in the EU
  • Putting your knowledge in IFRS for consolidated group accounts and local GAAPs to work and constantly improve it
  • Looking into and further develop our Finance processes across all matters to support our EU roll-out with a stable back-bone
  • Responsible for communicating with FP&A to support our internal reporting as well as coordinating externally with auditors, tax advisors and fiscal authorities
  • Getting insight into a market leading credit card technology, connecting it with traditional accounting practises and further developing them
  • Part of an expanding and international start-up in the financial industry at the forefront of shaping our pan European footprint

What you bring to the table:

  • You have completed a university degree in finance, accounting or a related subject
  • 5-7 years+ of working experience in a financially driven environment – ideally in a company in the financial industry or a technology start-up
  • You have a hands-on mentality, are highly analytical, possess a structured approach to your work, and you have a strong drive to develop your career in the financial industry or tech
  • Post-graduation qualifications such as Bilanzbuchhalter, ACCA or ACA are a strong plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAPs and the customary MS-Office tools – in particular Excel – DATEV is a plus
  • You have experience in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, in group consolidation and ideally across a number of different GAAP regimes
  • German language skills are a strong plus but not required
