As Moss’ first User Researcher, you’ll be directly shaping the direction of our product as well as our overall company strategy. 

You’ll be working closely with teammates across Product Management, Product Design, and Engineering, to better understand the most important product questions that will shape the team roadmaps and hone their features to maximize customer impact. You’ll also help coach and enable these teams so they’ll be able to generate the best findings from their own user research activities. 

You’ll also be working closely with cross-functional leaders and teams, across Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, and Strategy, to help us answer the most critical questions to shape our company’s strategic plans. This can include high-level understanding how purchase decisions are made, high-level customer needs assessment, market segmentation, and other topics. 

Your role

  • Build up the customer research function at Moss, reporting directly to our CPO
  • Drive customer research on both strategic and usability level
  • Collaborate with the product team … as well as other relevant teams, such as strategy
  • Design, develop and guide (mostly qualitative) research
  • Synthesize and share key findings with the product teams as well as the company more broadly
  • Leverage personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios to make your research tangible and actionable
  • You up-level the Product team's customer empathy and deepen customer centricity at Moss (even further)
What you bring to the table
  • 5+ years of experience running customer research - ideally with B2B or even Finance / Accounting experience
  • Ability to effectively drive end-to-end user research: define research objectives and interview guide, identify interview candidates, schedule interviews, moderate interviews (with support of your team), and summarize and share insights with your and other teams. 
  • Experience leading open-ended strategic research projects as well as deep & specific product research projects. 
  • Effective partnership with your team: Designers, PMs, Engineers, and other cross-functional teammates. You include teammates in the process, share findings, and ensure those findings are incorporated into decisions.
  • You’re fluent in English - German is a plus.
  • Nice to have: Experience or interest in Product Design. Ideally you are comfortable translating ideas into Figma prototypes, and insights into Figma designs.
  • Nice to have: Comfortable with data analysis to complement qualitative research
