NewsWhip is the leading technology for identifying and tracking the stories that matter in the world each day. We monitor millions of signals produced every day from social networks that reveal the articles, events, and people driving discussion and engagement.
We are an ambitious and growing Irish software company, funded by the world’s leading news agency, The Associated Press. Our customers include global brands, PR agencies, public institutions and media leaders.
We are looking for a talented Frontend Developer to help us build the defining technology for showing what stories and events matter each day, in every language and category of content.
You will work in a team of Product Managers, UX designers and Backend Developers to build products that our customers will love to use. As part of this team you will be involved in all areas of the product development life cycle, from deciding what to build given an understanding of customer needs, to pushing features into production.
The successful candidate will have experience in executing rapidly from concept to completion. They will have good communication skills and be ready to get to work in our fast-moving startup environment. An inherent curiosity for what we do and the technologies we use is imperative.
You’ll also collaborate in decisions on our platform direction, build an understanding of what we can do, and how we can push out the limits of what NewsWhip’s technology is capable of. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of full segments of the NewsWhip architecture.
Ideally you’ll have the following
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years experience in building web applications with frameworks.
- 3+ years of experience with common front-end technologies, such as Angular, React, Webpack, Babel, and Gulp etc.
- 1+ years of experience of front-end test frameworks such as Karma, Jest, Mocha, Jasmine.
- Working knowledge of Node.js
- Scala and Play framework
- Experience developing data heavy interfaces
We understand it can be difficult to tick all the boxes, so we’re keen on talking to people who are eager to learn and develop in these areas. :)
- Competitive salary
- Performance-based Bonus
- Great working environment, with a remote-first policy, supported by our office in a great location overlooking Merrion Square, in Dublin 2.
- An opportunity to help define an entire new industry category
- Excellent opportunity to grow in one of Dublin's fastest growing home-grown companies
We believe in maintaining a friendly work environment, a healthy work-life balance, and compensating our employees fairly for their input. You’ll be part of a team that believes in mutual support and education, and for a company where a work week isn’t just the gap between weekends, but an opportunity to do work that is impactful and innovative. We also love eating and socializing together, annual and seasonal company and team retreats, healthy and unhealthy snacks and other perks.
If this is you, please apply here through the link. We look forward to chatting!
