THE ROLE

We are looking for a high-performing, engaging, and results-focused client manager to join WiseEnergy’s Client Management team and lead in the delivery of asset management services for one of the internal funds of NextEnergy Capital. This role provides exposure at the highest level across the organization; you will work with all the delivery teams across WiseEnergy: the project management and construction team as well as the technical, commercial and financial service delivery teams. You will also, and critically, be the primary interface with the client to ensure that we deliver impeccable services to drive the performance of a large portfolio of Solar Plants in the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting and multifaceted role that involves both technical, commercial, financial and client management responsibilities.

You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, an expert in client management and used to dealing with both internal and external clients and teams in a fast-moving, fast-growing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Client liaison and relationship management

The Client Manager is the key person leading and managing the relationship with the client, acting as the liaison between the client and internal teams and external teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of expectations and coordinating the delivery of projects and programs to drive outperformance of the assets under WiseEnergy’s management.

 

Meeting coordination and follow-up

You will arrange, lead and drive meetings with WiseEnergy colleagues, external parties and our clients, to ensure coordination between all teams, whilst ensuring effective communication of outcomes, actions, timeframes and budgets.

 

Onboarding of new assets

You will lead and coordinate the onboarding of new assets from the project management and construction teams to the WiseEnergy operational teams to ensure an effective handover and that services continue to be delivered to the highest quality.

 

Project proposals, sign-off, contracting and billing 

You will work with WiseEnergy teams on the daily operation of plants and the portfolio, helping sign off technical, commercial and financial interventions and improvement plans to ensure the outperformance of the assets. You will ensure contracts are in place for all our services, that our work is delivered on time and within budget, and that all our work is invoiced.

 

Reporting 

You will coordinate regular reporting of asset and portfolio performance to the clients to ensure the client is fully informed on performance against strategy, generation and financial targets. You will be able to use software tools and bespoke in-house tools to be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate performance.

 

Budgeting

Lead and work with the teams and the client on a regular budgeting process for all assets and the fund.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and work well with teams, managing time and workload efficiently
  • Time management & prioritization skills- things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical!
  • Excellent communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to put together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging
  • Flexibility- being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description; it also means being able to work with lots of different personalities and working styles, and to thrive on the variety and diversity
  • Intellectual curiosity – we are looking for someone who is truly interested in how solar assets work and how WiseEnergy can be a best-in-class asset manager and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas to the team
  • IT literacy - you should have an interest in technology, including AI and show the aptitude to bring this into your role and the projects you are accountable for delivering. You do not need to be an expert, but you must be technically literate and curious about the possibilities that technology brings
  • Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • You will have worked in the solar industry for at least 5 years, ideally in a technical, sales, or client management role for an Asset Manager, EPC, O&M, or other service providers, and understand what makes solar plants “tick”
  • You will have a good understanding of the UK and international solar market, technology, trends, regulatory environment and Investment landscape
  • You will have the right to work in the UK.
