Our Senior NGS Specialists are ambitious, talented and motivated individuals, they’re passionate about growing the sales of our innovative range of  NGS products, as well as being experts in building collaborative relationships with our distributors and non-direct territories globally (worldwide except North America).

You’ll report to our Director for European Sales & Support, and have the chance to showcase your talents, making a significant contribution to our ambitious sales targets that drive OGT’s commercial development.

What you’ll be doing for us:

  • Support direct and indirect sales channel opportunities by translating deep domain expertise and product knowledge into compelling positioning, competitive and selling strategies
  • Ensure sales and profit targets are achieved for NGS products and all customer leads are followed up
  • Develop and implement specific strategies appropriate to customer needs and identify key critical success factors for successful new business opportunities
  • Maximise customer sales and profitability volume and channel growth (and transfer of tests from competitor assays)
  • Provide second-line sales support to Direct Account Managers/ Export Sales Managers when dealing with large opportunities or complex sales situations
  • Act as subject matter NGS expert to increase knowledge within the sales team through mentoring and training
  • Coordinate front line support with Account Managers, FAS and Customer Service
  • Gather and seek out information about customers, competitors and the market and ensure that findings, evaluations, and trends are communicated appropriately and that CRM records are up to date.
  • Maintain individual sales skills and technical knowledge to high standards, also coaching and supporting Account Managers as appropriate
  • Negotiate, within guidelines, prices, discounts and terms to ensure the best deals are secured within a defined product range, and that any spend is within the agreed budget
  • Submission of accurate forecasts and revenue for the purpose of managing and planning the EU & ROW NGS business.

What we’re looking for in you:


  • BSc degree or equivalent as a minimum, up to PhD in Life Sciences
  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience in a related environment
  • Prior field experience supporting customers in a highly technical field such as Next Generation Sequencing, Array-based Genotyping, molecular diagnostics, or molecular testing
  • Demonstrated measurable revenue generation success in previous roles
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade
  • Excellent demonstrated communication (verbal and written) presentation and training skills
  • Understanding of national testing / WHO and Disease guidelines
  • Prior experience of oncology market and customer contacts within that segment.


  • Experience with CRM for lead, opportunity tracking and, if appropriate, forecasting
  • Recognized deep expertise of cancer biology and clinical diagnostics
  • Lab–based experience in sequencing library prep methods and sequencing instrumentation preferred
  • Demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Network of established customer relationships preferred.
