What you will do:

As an Analytics Engineer you will help our employees make better decisions by providing trustworthy data analytics. The 3 building blocks for this role are: requirements gathering, data modelling and supporting the business in getting the insights from the data through the use of data visualization.

Where you will have impact:

  • Build analytics in code by writing highly-performant SQL and creating optimized data models
  • Contribute to our dbt code by developing on our dimensional data models
  • Collaborate through version control and peer reviews
  • Gather requirements from different internal business units (Product, Sales, Operations, Marketing, …)
  • Translate business requirements into performant, reusable, tested and documented data models which provide actionable insights
  • Maintain and grow our data catalogue
  • Guide reporting analysts and business users in deciding which data points and metrics are relevant to track progress on their objectives
  • Own the design, implementation and maintenance of advanced analytics dashboards and KPI reports in our BI tool
  • Support our transition to become more data-driven by enabling functional teams to explore data marts in self-service mode so they can answer their own questions
  • Improve our product by performing A/B tests and analyzing how ideal customers use our product features
  • Research and follow recent industry and technology trends so we can continue reaping the benefits of being a fast-moving technology adopter. You'll always be on the lookout for the best solution.

About our team:

The Lighthouse Analytics Engineering team is the internal data team within our wider engineering organization. Our mission is to ensure internal stakeholders can make the right decisions by providing timely data insights and empowering the functional team themselves with easy to use access to our internal data. The team works in close collaboration with experts from all departments to build compelling reports on their objectives, as well as with a highly talented group of software engineers to drive initiatives forward and continuously improve our analytics stack.

Today we maintain a growing cloud data warehouse containing information coming from multiple sources, ERP systems, billing tools, application usage data , etc. All of that using modern technologies. Being a growth company ensures us to keep adding additional sources and continue enriching our internal data insights.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of working experience as a Data professional
  • Familiarity with data structures and data models, e.g.  ERDs, and a good understanding of data warehousing
  • Proficient in writing highly-performant SQL queries and eager to learn more about it
  • Experience with dimensional modeling and a good understanding of data warehouse design
  • Experience in stakeholder management and requirement gathering
  • Experience visualizing datasets using BI tools (such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Experience with ELT/ETL tools (such as Fivetran, Stitch, etc.) and data transformation tools (such as dbt, Dataform, Terraform, etc.)
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a customer service mentality
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with stakeholders from different business units
  • Self-driven and motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, any other language used within our company network is a plus
