About the Pricing team:
We are the engine behind the business, collaborating closely with our data engineering, machine learning, marketing and wider tech teams to underpin the company's growth and footprint.
We’ve got a huge amount of backing from our leadership team, allowing us to make decisions quickly and react to an ever-changing market. This autonomy gives us the edge over competition and allows us to stay nimble as we scale.
As I’m sure that you are aware, data is key, that’s why we ingest huge amounts of it from various third parties. This gives us a crystal-clear picture of our customers, leading to a best-in-class loss ratio keeping us one step ahead of the market.
This puts us in a great place, however we’re looking to develop pricing further by increasing the sophistication of our retail pricing and that’s where you come in.
Your day to day:
· Developing and delivering best practice pricing capabilities and solutions
· Shaping thinking on price optimisation strategies within the business
· Driving updates and improvements to the framework and approaches for price optimisation
· Overseeing the build and deployment of predictive models and algorithms
· Supporting Technology in the evolution of ML infrastructure for use in optimisation and the wider the Pricing team
· Reviewing and testing internal and external data sources with the use of feature engineering to enrich and improve understanding of customer behaviour and the Insurance market place
· Gaining agreement and buy in from the Exec for pricing strategies and resulting workstreams at the Monthly Pricing Committees
· Providing leadership to the Price Optimisation team
· Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in techniques and tooling for the price optimisation space
Who are you:
· 10+ years’ experience in pricing roles
· Deep understanding of retail price optimisation and the competitive Insurance landscape
· Significant experience of building, monitoring, and updating predictive models and price optimisation algorithms
· Strong data manipulation skills using SQL/Python/R/WPS or similar
· Preferable to have experience in building and deploying ML algorithms in AWS Sagemaker or similar service
· Preferably proficient in WTW RADAR software
· Experience of leading and building teams
· Strong communication and influencing skills required
