The Role

Following a recent $6.8M funding we are growing the team and are looking for a technical, hands-on Product Marketing Specialist who can work closely with our customers and others to gain a detailed product-level understanding of how Preservica’s software is used (or could be used) to perform key tasks - and convert these insights into a set of standard product configurations and templates for different persona and industries.

You don’t necessarily have to come from a Product Marketing background - you might currently be in software support, pre-sales, customer success, product management or training. The role will suit any technical hands-on individual who loves working with customers and software and has a desire to make a wider impact by building replicable configurations that can be used across entire industries.

Working as part of a dynamic cross-functional team (with colleagues from marketing, sales, product, engineering and customer success) your insights and skills will be vital to helping the team create product experiences that deliver real-world value for different user communities - a fundamental part of our Product Led Growth (PLG) strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research, scope and build replicable product variants by pre-configuring standard Preservica offerings to meet the needs of specific industries and personas e.g. Preservica for Government
  • Work closely with existing users, pre-sales and our customer success teams to gain an in-depth product-level understanding of how Preservica is used (or could be used) to achieve specific tasks or jobs across different industries
  • Explore ways the standard Preservica product could be pre-configured to enable customers to achieve faster time to value and to streamline key tasks e.g.
    • industry specific onboarding sequences
    • optimized content ingest workflows
    • pre-defined templates for typical archival structures and metadata
    • industry specific in-product tutorials
    • pre-defined retention and digital preservation policies
    • default roles and permissions
    • pre-configured dashboards and reports
    • facets & filters for public portals
  • Work hands-on with the standard Preservica products using real-world content examples, existing product configuration options and workflows and adding scripts if required
  • Document and feedback novel or essential product requirements to the product and engineering team
  • Support the go-to-market by creating scripted demos and short demo videos that show how the pre-configured Product helps customer streamline and achieve key tasks


Knowledge & Experience

  • 2-3 years in a technical hands-on software & customer facing role e.g. product marketing, product management, product owner, software support, pre-sales, customer success or training
  • Proven ability to work hands-on with application software (at administrator level) creating custom environments that reflect real-world use cases by using existing product workflow tools and configuring templates and adding example content and structures
  • Experience using or adding scripts e.g. in python an advantage
  • Experience working with or using archiving or library software a distinct advantage
  • Experience working with Government users a distinct advantage
  • Experience of M365 retention and compliance a distinct advantage

Location & Reporting

Either office-based in Abingdon or working remotely in the UK and reporting to the Vice President, Marketing Strategy, this position includes travel to conferences, events and partners’ and customers’ premises. Some International travel will be required.
