A Day in the Life of a DevOps Engineer at PrimaryBid

My day is split between delivering new features and changes to existing PrimaryBid's infrastructure, which is hosted on AWS, and enabling and assisting our developers. This includes tasks like deploying applications to our Kubernetes clusters, creating resources using Terraform, and writing scripts to help developers with local workflows. I enjoy the large degree of technical freedom I have. This means I am usually given a broad requirement, and I'm free to decide how to achieve the desired outcome. In DevOps we have a large degree of responsibility, which means the work we do is especially satisfying. Overall it's a very rewarding job for someone interested in the technical work - Alfie Whelan, DevOps Engineer.
