  • Contribute to BI tool (Looker) configuration that provides actionable, self-serving insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Build and manage the data pipelines (feeds, integrations, calculations, transformations) that drive the business, both batched and streamed
  • Create frameworks to execute automated (data) tests to proactively ensure data flowing into PrimaryBid's data warehouse is of the highest quality
  • Design and implement stratgeies for logging, monitoring, and alerting of our data stack, including documenting the process to ensure support teams are well equipped to flag and diagnose issues
  • Design and implement tooling/processes to guarantee data compliance
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimmizing data delivery, re-factoring for greater scalability, etc.
  • Contribute to requirement/specification authoring relating to data engineering projects.
  • Have a security minded focus when designing pipelines to protect end user data.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the Data Platform team's documentation repository


What are we looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has atiained a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing, modeling and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, complex query authoring (SQL) as well as a solid familiarity with a variety of SQL databases (MySQL, Postgres)
  • Proficiency in Python and Object Oriented Programming practices. Strong code craftsmanship and focus on code quality, unit and E2E testing.
  • Proficiency with data warehouse design and modelling
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Proficiency with the linux command line

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastruicture
  • Proficiency with noSQL database technologies (in particular MongoDB)
  • Prior experience in a FinTech role or experience in working with Financial transaction data and compliance functions
  • Experience with third party data integration tools (e.g. FiveTran, DBt, Matillion)
