Job Title: County Organiser

Job Summary:
We are seeking dynamic and highly motivated County Organisers to lead the political, organisational, and campaign efforts. Working under the supervision of the regional director, the County Organiser will be responsible for building and maintaining local party branches, recruiting and developing candidates, and running effective campaigns to win elections. This is a pivotal role, requiring excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Branch Development and Maintenance
- Work closely with local party members to establish and support strong and active branches across the county.
- Provide guidance and training to branch officers, ensuring they operate effectively and in line with party rules.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between branches and the wider party structure.
- Candidate Recruitment and Development
- Identify and recruit prospective candidates for local and national elections.
- Support and guide candidates through the selection process, ensuring they meet party standards.
- Work in conjunction with the Centre of Excellence team to help them deliver organised training and development programs for candidates to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for campaigning and representing the party effectively.
- Campaign Management and Execution
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of successful election campaigns at local and regional levels.
- Help branches develop campaign strategies, including voter engagement, canvassing, fundraising, and communications.
- Work with party members, volunteers, and external stakeholders to deliver campaign objectives.
- Monitor campaign performance and intervene and adapt strategies as necessary to maximise impact.
- Volunteer Engagement and Management
- Recruit, inspire, and retain a network of volunteers to support party activities.
- Provide training and resources to ensure volunteers are effective and motivated.
- Build a culture of teamwork and inclusivity among party activists.
- Communications and Public Engagement
- Act as the main point of contact between the county branches and regional/national party offices.
- Promote party policies and messages effectively within the county through events, media, and direct outreach.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community organisations, businesses, and media outlets.
Person Specification:
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in political campaigning, community organising, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.e
- Ability to think strategically and adapt plans to changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of electoral processes and campaign techniques.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
- Familiarity with [County/Region]’s political landscape.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with campaign software and databases.
- A commitment to the values and principles of the party.
Notes:
- This role will require regular evening and weekend work to accommodate meetings, events, and campaigns.
- Travel across the county will be necessary, so access to a vehicle and a full driving licence are highly desirable.
