Position Description

DevOps Security Engineer 

Permanent Full Time 

Location:  Vietnam 


As leading maritime safety and environmental experts, RightShip has an ambitious vision to expand its influence in safety, sustainability and crew welfare using the best new innovation, digitalization, data and customer focused solutions. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on DevOps Security Engineer who can join a team of highly skilled engineers 

As an experienced DevOps Security Engineer, whilst being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will design and support cloud solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient and monitored, and incorporate security best practices across current and future cloud resources. You will assist with the designing and implementation of continuous delivery pipelines that serve the purpose of provisioning and operating production as well as test environments and provide systems support including responding to monitoring alerts. 

This will include working closely with the department’s Product Managers, coordinating with QA, architects and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required. 

This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business. 


Major Responsibilities   

  • Serve as a key member of the DevOps team with a focus on security while assisting with the management and administration of the company's online cloud resources. 
  • Implement, configure, and upgrade cloud resources using security best practices and incorporating solutions to meet or exceed SOC2, ISO 27001, and other regulatory requirements.  
  • Research security trends and emerging technologies, keep abreast of security incidents and act as a contact point during security audits and information security incidents. 
  • Provide systems support including creating and responding to monitoring alerts. 
  • CI/CD pipeline configuration, troubleshooting, and support.  
  • Work on a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions, and processes. 
  • Be prepared to participate in a shared on-call rotation. 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience  

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role. 
  • Experience of the Microsoft Azure Platform – Azure SQL, App Services, Logic Apps, Key Vault and Azure DevOps. 
  • Previous experience in security monitoring, incident response, threat intel or security engineering. 
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, Git, Bicep/ARM templates and deployment automation. 
  • Understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products. 
  • Experience with Operational and Monitoring tools including Datadog, Azure Monitor, App Insights and Log Analytics. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and manage priorities effectively. 
  • Comfortable working with remote teams. 
  • Excellent personal organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges. 
  • Comfortable working without routine supervision. 
  • A desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies.
