About The Role

We're looking for a hands-on Content Manager with a passion for crafting compelling, beautifully written content that drives engagement and generates leads. You'll play a key role in expanding our digital footprint and promoting our brand across all channels. This requires a highly creative individual with strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. A proven track record in content marketing, a strong writing portfolio, and experience with social media are highly desired.

What will you be doing?

  • Content Creation: Write and publish engaging content ensuring the ShipMonk brand message stands out. Content includes blog posts, case studies, website content, digital ads, social media content, eBooks, and more.
  • Social Media Management: Own and manage organic social media channels, creating content designed to engage users and build strong online communities.
  • SEO and Content Marketing: Create content marketing campaigns to drive leads and subscribers using SEO best practices to generate traffic to our site.
  • Blog Management: Actively manage and promote our blog, publishing posts via WordPress and pitching articles to relevant third-party platforms.
  • Content Editing: Edit content produced by other members of the organization to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Analytics and Optimization: Analyze content marketing metrics and make changes as needed for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, account management, customer support, product, HR, executive leadership, and technical teams, to create innovative content ideas.
  • Project Management: Maintain organization and adhere to strict deadlines using our project management platform to ensure on-time deliverables.
  • Competitor Analysis: Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to ensure ShipMonk’s positioning and messaging stand out.
  • PR and Community Engagement: Manage PR through social media channels, creating content that engages users and fosters an interactive relationship between customers and ShipMonk.
  • Reviews Strategy: Build and manage a “customer reviews strategy” for handling online interactions, ensuring all brand communications on social media represent the brand positively across platforms such as Trustpilot, Google, Capterra, and G2.
  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the overall marketing goals, optimizing content for different platforms and understanding their nuances.

What are we looking for?

  • Creative Talent: Ability to develop elevated written content, cohesive content for campaigns, and tell powerful stories through creative work.
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years experience working in content management and writing content for consumer and B2B brands, ideally with exposure to the e-commerce or logistics sectors, ideally working with a 3PL.
  • Social Media:  Experience managing social media channels and creating content that drives engagement.
  • Content Management & Production:  Proficiency in using CMS platforms like WordPress and marketing automation tools like HubSpot.
  • Advertising Knowledge: Well-versed in all advertising mediums and their appropriate usage, including social media, display, SEO, SEM, audio, video, TV advertising, and mobile channels.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leverage research, analytics, and brand insights to optimize and improve creative performance.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience building personal knowledge of complex businesses and fostering comprehension and knowledge across one’s team.
  • Organizational Skills: Thrives in a fast-paced growth environment, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can multitask.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Content Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your best writing across various formats (e.g., blog posts, articles, website copy, social media content, ebooks). Your portfolio should demonstrate:
    • Excellent writing and editing skills: Impeccable grammar, clarity, and style.
    • Versatility: Ability to adapt your writing to different audiences and purposes.
    • Creativity: Examples of engaging and original content.
    • SEO knowledge: At least one example of content optimized for search engines.
    • Results: If possible, include metrics or results that demonstrate the impact of your work (e.g., increased website traffic, engagement, lead generation).
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Google Workspace: Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
    • Project Management Tools: Experience with Asana, Monday.com, Jira, Clickup, or similar platforms.
  • Brand Awareness: Understanding of brand guidelines and style guides, with the ability to maintain consistency in messaging and tone.
  • Optional, but highly desired:
    • Experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.
    • Familiarity with marketing automation tools like HubSpot.
    • Experience in the e-commerce or logistics industries.
