As we continue to expand our horizons, we are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as the Senior Database Administrator (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward.  The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany.

What Will Your Role Be

As Senior Database Administrator, you will be an integral part of our Database Operations Team. You'll play an important role in planning the future development of our database systems, ensuring they remain reliable and aligned with our objectives for data preservation and security.

What You’ll Do

• You will be responsible for the management (installation, administration, monitoring) of the provided services in the area of databases and messaging.
• You will get to know our deployed technologies and manage them with your team.
• This includes e.g. MySQL/Percona XtraDB Cluster, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ and Redis, ElasticSearch, Filebeat, Patroni, Zookeeper/KRaft etc.
• You will specialize in one or two technologies and take responsibility for the corresponding services with another team member.
• You will be the contact person for questions regarding performance, problem solving and scaling, as well as high availability.
• You will support users in how to use our services, and also take care of special requests and requirements.
• You will be in constant exchange with our system engineers of other teams.
• You will evaluate new technologies and implement new ideas independently or with your colleagues.
• You will organize your own work as well as the work of the team according to agile methods.

What You’ll Bring

• You have gained several years of experience in the handling and administration of Linux systems and servers.
• You have advanced knowledge in at least one area of the technology stack we use.
• You ideally have additional experience with other technologies we use.
• You are experienced in at least one scripting language like Python, Bash, Ruby, Go or similar.
• You have already gotten in touch with configuration management tools such as Puppet (preferred), Ansible or Chef.
• You have good analytical and logical thinking skills and are able to solve problems independently.
• You are interested in further developing your knowledge in the field of database administration and other current technologies.
• You are not afraid of assessing new database technologies, as well as evaluating searching and messaging to put them into operation.
• You are an absolute team player and can pleasure in communicating with your colleagues
• You have a good command of English.
