As we continue to expand our horizons, we are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as the Business Intelligence Engineer (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward. The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany.

What Will Your Role Be

Exciting tasks await you in the Spread Group IT Department, far removed from standard e-commerce solutions, because our platform is an exceptionally versatile system and poses exciting challenges in terms of software architecture and development. Above all, the continuous change in our IT infrastructure from a monolithic system to a scalable micro service architecture offers you the opportunity to redesign parts of the existing data warehouse and business intelligence infrastructure. As a member of an agile development team, you have a direct influence on the selection of strategies and technologies.

What You´ll Do

• You will develop expertise in understanding our business processes and the requirements that depend on them
• You take on your own projects in which you develop new data sources, conceptualize and design ETL processes and integrate them into the existing BI landscape
• You will responsibly optimize and monitor our existing data warehouse infrastructure based on Exasol, MySQL, Pentaho Data Integration and Microstrategy
• You support the team in developing a scalable and high-performance data landscape by bringing in your own ideas and experience
• You support the BI team in modernizing the BI architecture of the Spread Group and in evaluating, introducing and integrating new tools

What You´ll Bring

• You are very interested in data warehouse and business intelligence and already have professional experience
• You have very good knowledge of databases and SQL
• You master the essential concepts of data integration (ETL,ELT)
• You have already gained experience with data integration, ideally with tools such as Pentaho Data Integration, Talend or dbt
• You have sound programming knowledge, ideally in Python, LUA or JavaScript
• You have basic knowledge of Linux and are motivated to continue to deepen your knowledge
• You have a basic understanding of business processes, ideally in the e-commerce sector
• You are a reliable and careful team player, actively participate in topics/meetings and enjoy your work
