As we continue to expand our horizons, we are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as the Junior Administrator (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward.  The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany.

What Will Your Role Be

As Junior Database Administrator, you will be an integral part of our Database Operations Team. You'll play an important role in planning the future development of our database systems, ensuring they remain reliable and aligned with our objectives for data preservation and security.

What You’ll Do

• You will be responsible for the management (installation, administration, monitoring) of the mostly database related services provided by us.
• You will get to know our technologies, including MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka and Redis, and manage them together with your team.
• You will specialize in one or two technological topics, and – together with another team member – take responsibility for the corresponding services.
• You will be the contact person for questions regarding performance, problem solving, scaling and high availability.
• You will support the users of our services in its general use, but also with special requests and requirements.
• You will be in constant exchange with our system engineers of other teams.
• You evaluate new technologies and implement new ideas independently or together with your colleagues.
• You will organize your own work as well as the work of the team in accordance with agile methods.

What You’ll Bring

• You have basic knowledge of relational and/or document-based database systems and/or are willing to dive deeper into our used technologies, especially MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and others.
• You already have basic experience in the handling and administration of Linux systems and servers.
• You are experienced in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, Ruby, Go or similar.
• You have a good analytical and logical-thinking skills and the ability to solve problems independently.
• You are interested in further developing of your knowledge in the field of database administration and other current technologies.
• You are not afraid of evaluating and implementing new database technology, searching, and messaging.
• You are a real team player and enjoy communicating with your colleagues.
• You have a good command of English.
