Every week, hundreds of thousands of designs are uploaded by our awesome customers and designers to have them printed or sold on all kinds of print-on-demand products. The Image Handling team is responsible for developing and maintaining backend applications which are used for processing the uploaded designs and the data around them. Together with us, you’ll help to keep the designs' journey from the initial upload to the production process swift and safe! This task truly demands a broad skill set as we operate business-critical, data-intensive backend services, render all kinds of images for our customers, and communicate with lots of different stakeholders.

We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Software Engineer Backend (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward. The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany.

Our Tech Stack & More

• We use Kotlin/Java with Spring Boot or Jersey.
• We make sure our production code runs reliably using automated tests, CI pipelines, frequent releases, and observability.

What You'll Bring

• You are proficient in developing Java/Kotlin services based on Spring Boot or another web framework.
• You appreciate existing applications and are able to maintain and incrementally modernize them guided by refactoring strategies and automated testing.
• You are familiar with distributed systems and their challenges.
• You have experience working with image processing and rendering.
• You are versed in planning software architectures and setting up long-term roadmaps.
• You appreciate the benefits of an iterative process when seeing the plans come into reality.
• You stay up to date with the latest developments in the software industry.
• You like to document your work.
• You enjoy close collaboration with your teammates as well as keeping in touch on a daily basis.
• You have an appreciative nature, are open minded, and want to learn.
• You have a pragmatic mindset and care about solving problems for our users instead of unlikely future requirements.
• You have a good command of English and can easily communicate in English.
