We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing employee relations matters across multiple regions, ensuring compliance with local labor laws. This role provides guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation, while addressing the unique needs of a diverse, international workforce. The Employee Relations Specialist partners closely with HR, legal, and business leaders to mitigate risk and ensure a fair and consistent approach to employee relations globally.
We're looking for someone who:
- Experience in employee relations, HR, or a similar role, preferably in an international or multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of global labor laws, particularly those related to employment practices and anti-discrimination.
- Experience conducting investigations, conflict resolution, and managing sensitive employee issues.
- Employee Relations Expertise: Strong knowledge of employee relations principles, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically and effectively at all levels.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in a practical and legally compliant manner.
- Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity and adaptability to various cultural and regional differences.
- Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Confidentiality and Integrity: High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
What you'll be doing:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, people partners and managers to address, performance management, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and concerns.
- Create and build policies and frameworks to support managers, and employees whilst being compliant with local legislation.
- Partner with the legal team to ensure employee relations practices are compliant with local, regional, and international labor laws.
- Support managers in addressing employee performance concerns, coaching them on handling disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and documentation.
- Partner with Talent Management to ensure a consistent approach when tackling performance-related concerns.
- Collaborate with HR business partners and managers to address underperformance, create actionable plans, and follow up on progress.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, anti-discrimination policies, and regulatory requirements across all regions.
- Identify potential risks related to employee relations issues and provide recommendations to mitigate these risks.
- Partner with Talent Management to Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote a positive work culture, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews to gather insights, identify trends, and recommend strategies for improving employee satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to implement feedback mechanisms, including employee surveys, and help address identified areas of improvement.
- Design and deliver training sessions on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution, workplace harassment, and performance management.
- Coach managers and employees on best practices for communication, team building, and maintaining respectful workplace relationships.
- Promote awareness of company policies, fostering a consistent understanding of employee expectations and workplace conduct across all teams.
- Track and analyze employee relations metrics, such as grievances, turnover rates, and exit interview data, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and insights to HR and business leaders, highlighting emerging employee relations issues and recommending proactive measures.
- Utilize data to support strategic decision-making and improve employee relations programs and initiatives.
