As our business grows, the number of exciting people initiatives grows with it, and we’re looking for a Strategic planning lead to help understand and champion our local customer needs to help make the right choices of where and how we focus, to identify areas of opportunities to take us to the next level by delivering for the customer.
- A proven track record in a dynamic online business.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar industry.
- Analytical in nature who can help bring clarity to problems and opportunities.
- Has strong financial literacy to ensure business performance and planning is fully understood.
- Has experience in managing senior audiences.
- A customer obsession.
- Utilizing customer research to develop actionable hypotheses to help develop a compelling customer proposition.
- Become the voice of the customer to collaborate at pace with our senior product leaders.
- Budget Management & financial planning: work with our finance team to develop our annual budget and ongoing forecasting processes.
- Business Case Development: Lead the creation of compelling business cases for new initiatives, product launches, and strategic investments, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Strategic Planning & Decision Support: Partner with senior leaders to evaluate and prioritize strategic opportunities, helping to shape the direction of commercial activities and investments.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Conduct detailed market and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities, risks, and trends that could influence commercial strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure commercial strategies are aligned with broader business objectives.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively identify and address potential risks or bottlenecks in performance, recommending corrective actions or alternative approaches as necessary.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership on performance, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring transparent communication and effective decision-making.
Skills/Experience:
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions. Proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software is essential.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to manage and optimize commercial performance.
- Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement long-term strategies based on market trends, competitive analysis, and business objectives, while balancing short-term goals and performance.
- Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize, drive execution, and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership and engage with various stakeholders to influence decision-making.
