Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payment Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our payment processes, ensuring accurate and timely execution of transactions, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. You will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial operations and contributing to an exceptional customer experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Payment Processing:
    1. Monitor payment workflows to ensure timely and accurate execution of transactions.
    2. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and failures promptly.
  • Reconciliation:
    1. Perform regular reconciliation of payment volumes processed by payment service providers (PSPs).
    2. Verify fees charged by PSPs to ensure alignment with agreed terms and identify any discrepancies.
    3. Maintain detailed records of reconciliations and escalate issues as needed.
  • System Management and Optimization:
    1. Work with internal teams and external vendors to optimize payment systems and processes.
    2. Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
    3. Ensure system configurations align with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  1. Maintain compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  2. Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to address potential risks related to payment operations.
  3. Assist with audits and reporting requirements.
  • Payment Providers Management:
    1. Communicate with payment providers to manage relationships and address operational issues.
    2. Oversee the onboarding of new payment providers, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
    3. Conduct regular due diligence.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    1. Generate regular and ad hoc reports on payment operations metrics.
    2. Analyse payment trends and identify areas for improvement.
    3. Provide insights to support decision-making and strategy development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    1. Partner with customer support teams to address and resolve payment-related inquiries.
    2. Collaborate with product and finance teams to support the launch of new payment methods and reconciliation processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in payment operations, financial services, or a related role.
  • Good understanding of payment systems, processes, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends is highly valued.
