About the role

Tabby is looking for a hands-on Business Development Senior Manager who is excited to work in a fast-paced environment and play a key role in further growing our business in our newest region. The right candidate has the ability to build strong relationships, develop a deep understanding of our market and in turn our merchant's pain points and priorities, negotiate commercials and close deals. As our first Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the entire sales cycle from prospecting leads via outbound activities, qualifying opportunities, delivering pitches and demos, converting deals to onboarding new merchants. You’ll be critical in building the team and processes from the ground up, and continuously cross collaborating with our product/ Finance/ Marketing and risk team to enhance our product and service offering establishing Tabby’s reputation in the market.

You’ll be working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment with the following responsibilities:

  • Managing Tabby’s relationship with large enterprise clients with the help of category managers, and leading the closure with strategically important merchants.
  • Building long-lasting relationships with new merchants, by positioning Tabby as a friend and a thought leader.
  • Quarterback our regional GM on large deals, 3rd party partnerships (e.g. payment gateways, e-commerce platforms, etc.) and lead new ones.
  • Be responsible for our sales pipeline coordination in Egypt, by closely collaborating with category managers and helping them train new members of the team.
  • Managing a team in coordination with GM-Egypt of business development analysts/ interns including; setting team and individual targets, pipeline management and organisation structuring, team member support and performance evaluation.
  • Setting evaluation criteria for team members and KPIs for portfolio growth in coordination with Tabby's Head of Business Development.
  • Be responsible for driving business development process enhancement initiatives.
  • Be responsible for team capacity management which includes forecasting business development team capacity vs. forecasted growth volumes and coordination with the People team on hiring required business development team members.

The application process consists of an interview with a member of the People team, an interview with a member of the Strategy team, and a case study and its presentation for one of the Founders.
