The Role
The Senior IT Systems Engineer is a lead for Terra Quantum’s IT systems and technology ecosystem, which is responsible for providing support for high availability operations and robust architecture behind the daily operations of the business. The Senior IT Systems Engineer reports to the Global Director IT Innovation & Systems supporting operations for the entire Terra Quantum organization. Highly trustworthy and focused under pressure, the individual that inhabits this role will continue to refine and iterate on Terra Quantum’s operational systems and software, primarily focused on distributed cloud-based SaaS solutions but also to include support for MDM-managed devices in the field.

The Responsibilities
Systems
- Directory, MDM, SSO Security services (managed via one SaaS product today)
- New employee onboarding automation (distributed configuration of workstations/devices)
- Productivity software operations (maintain SAML 2.0 SSO integrations and updates)
- MS 365 administration to include Defender configuration and reporting
- DNS and various domain services maintenance
- Testing and validation of new software solutions that support the business
- Some hands-on work with IdM solutions that are customer-facing
Reporting
- Maintain adherence to budget and socialize quarterly trends
- Provide alerts to potential security threats or potential attack vectors at a high level
- Output of system usage and operational metrics that help us optimize our ecosystem
Developer Support
- Build knowledge of cloud-based platforms in use by development teams
- Work with Global Director of IT Innovation and Systems to scale access controls
- Assist with setup for teams that include internal and external engineering resources
The Requirements
- Degree in computer science and/or equivalent experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in daily IT operations of cloud-based SaaS solutions
- The motivation to learn new skills and constantly improve capabilities
- Knowledge in security trends, tools and methodologies for distributed business operations
- Advanced experience with Unix/Linux and Windows
- Knowledge in distributed networking and software integrations
- Goal-oriented, analytical and the ability to work independently
- Flexible, proactive, and creative with the ability to work in a team
- Highly motivated and resilient with the ability to work interdisciplinary
- Enthusiastic to work with new technologies
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and German
- Ability to speak with confidence about the low-level challenges and potential pitfalls associated with supporting a distributed team
