The Opportunity
As the Business Development Lead, you will be responsible for driving the company's growth and expansion through the development and execution of partnerships with blockchain networks and/or their foundations. You will be a key member of the team and will work closely with the C-Suite and GTM leadership to identify and to secure new partnerships with early stage blockchain networks, as well as manage (and grow) existing partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically identify, develop, and manage partnerships with leading blockchain networks
- Engage with key blockchain network constituencies, including founding teams, governance bodies, and venture firms to secure testnet validator opportunities
- Negotiate proposals to secure token delegations from the networks
- Work closely with technical teams to understand specific network requirements and to inform deal qualification & prioritization
- Research and Analyze the best networks that will be going Mainnet on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and grow existing blockchain partnerships to ensure long-term success including knowledge of upgrades and governance votes
- Keep abreast of major themes, developments, and innovations in blockchain networks to inform business development and corporate strategies
- Represent the company in blockchain network-focused conferences, forums, and events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align business development efforts with overall company goals and objectives
- Generate externally-facing collateral to drive and promote Validation’s infrastructure-as-a-service platform
About You
Attributes
- Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment; entrepreneurial experience is a plus
- Deep working knowledge of early stage Blockchain Networks, tokenomics, air drops with the ability to both perform Due Diligence and manage a large pipeline of networks
- A willingness to grow and adapt with an exciting company in a high-growth space
- Strong communication skills to be persuasive both verbal and written
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of experience in business development or venture capital, preferably in blockchain industry with a focus on early stage networks
- Strong understanding of how blockchain network organizations operate; previous employment at L1, L2, Coin-listing, or Protocol Investment firm highly valuable or experience in a position closing deals with Blockchain Foundations
- Proven track record of successful deal sourcing, negotiation, and closing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing and reporting on a pipeline
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
