The role:
As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will be an essential part of Vay’s Engineering operations team, responsible for ensuring our fleet of teleoperated vehicles, Teledrive Stations, and related systems are maintained and ready for use. Your work will focus on performing inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and system updates to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Working closely with the Lead Fleet Maintenance and a talented team of engineers and technicians, you will contribute to maintaining Vay’s high safety and quality standards while supporting innovative transportation technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge systems in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
The responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:

- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on Vay’s fleet of teleoperated vehicles and Teledrive Stations.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on vehicles and associated systems.
- Assist with the integration and testing of new hardware or software updates to ensure system readiness.
Operational Readiness:
- Perform detailed inspections to ensure vehicles and Teledrive Stations meet operational safety and quality standards.
- Prepare vehicles and systems for demonstrations, testing, and commercial operations.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Maintain adherence to safety standards, industry regulations, and company protocols.
- Document work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and diagnostic findings.
Workshop Support:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working condition.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Lead Fleet Maintenance and other team members to prioritize tasks and resolve technical challenges.
The profile:
- Hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, or repair.
- Basic understanding of hardware and software systems used in modern vehicles.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance standards in fleet maintenance.
- Experience in working with teleoperation or autonomous systems is a plus, but not required.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Passion for technology and a desire to work on innovative transportation solutions.
- Ideally, previous experience with Jira and Fleetio
- Ideally, previous experience with KIA OEM services
