Role overview

Join our small and dynamic finance team in a pivotal role as an Insurance Finance Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a diverse range of finance activities, providing exposure to various aspects of financial reporting and operations for our UK Office.

Become an integral part of our growing team as an FP&A Analyst, contributing your expertise in the insurance space. This role is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with post-qualification experience to make a significant impact in FP&A functions within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize monthly management information for forecasting, scenario testing, and modeling.
  • Monitor performance, conduct underwriting and expense analysis, and contribute to strategic projects.
  • Support the development of tools, particularly Anaplan, and establish standards and processes for scalability and efficiency in FP&A.
  • Apply experience in cash flow forecasting, particularly in a bordereaux-driven business.
  • Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses.
  • Provide FP&A finance support to accounting and business partner teams related to premium production, planning, reporting, and metrics.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-qualification experience within the insurance space.
  • Strong knowledge of Insurance Products (GI/non-life) from an FP&A perspective.
  • Experience with Anaplan is a significant plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.

Soft Skills:

  • Comfortable with change, uncertainty, agility, and flexibility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in various ways and challenge and support commercial teams.
  • Detail-oriented, socially adept, and grounded.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to take responsibility.

Interview process

  1. Screening interview with Talent recruiter
  2. Manager interview with UK Chief Finance Officer & UK HR Manager 
  3. Senior executive interview with Head of FP&A & Chief Actuary
  4. Cross interview with central FP&A function (Head of FP&A & FP&A Analyst) 
  5. HR interview with Head of Talent or VP People & Culture
