About the Role
As the Regional Technical Director, you are responsible for all technical assets and aspects of our data center ensuring optimal availability of our technical services and assets throughout their entire lifecycle, taking into consideration health, safety, environment, costs, investments, and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities
This position will have overall responsibility for all technical aspects of our operational data centers including, but not limited to, all assets (electrical, mechanical, security systems, building, technical management systems), technical skills and know-how, information, compliance, maintenance, problem and risk management, investment, projects, and technical reports. People manager of electrical, mechanical, and control subject matter experts (SMEs).
/ Ensure optimal availability of technical services and assets.
/ Management of site technical teams and Yondr’s relationship with Original Equipment Manufacturers while providing technical support services.
/ Implementation and continuous development of our maintenance regimes and site operating procedures (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs).
/ Continued Health & Safety awareness in operational tasks.
/ Assistance in the review and approval of RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) from contractors performing work in our facilities.
/ Providing and assisting the site technical teams in preparation of all periodic reports RCAs (root cause analysis).
/ Development and implementation of asset life cycle plans, including repair / replace strategies and the initiation of replacement / capital projects.
/ Providing inputs to our design team regarding operator and maintainability aspects of the design.
/ Represent Yondr Operations during the technical handover process to ensure system testing and commissioning are satisfactorily completed for all projects, including new data centers.
/ Attending required meetings with key stakeholders to represent Operations in technical discussions.
/ Prepared to travel up to 25% of the time, including some overseas travel.
Qualifications and experience
/ Bachelor’s degree in the applicable engineering field preferred (experience would be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s).
/ 10+ years of relevant experience (with 5+ years of experience working in data centers and/or critical environments preferred).
/ Demonstrated skills and experience in the design, maintenance, and operation of critical environments, preferably data centers.
/ Experienced in the delivery of highly complex technical projects.
/ Evidence of strong people management skills with proven ability to lead a high performing team.
/ Experience building trusted relationships and successful collaborations with their immediate team, external stakeholders, and vendors to influence decisions for the benefit of the business.
/ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
/ Results oriented, highly accountable and strong organizational skills.
/ Proven self-starter.
/ Attention to detail and the ability to understand the big picture.
/ Ability to lead through change and transformation while adapting to shifting priorities.
/ Excellent external radar so that they pick up on trends and Innovations that will add value to the business.
