The role

The strategic negotiator will have the opportunity to oversee and manage large scale transactions across the Americas region that are integral to the growth of Yondr business. This role is a high speed and complex that requires flexible problem solving, effective communication and negotiations and the need to get things done

This role will lead the commercial negotiations with our technology customers and also be responsible for project-managing the customer deal from origination to contract execution. They will be working with many external and internal stakeholders such as investors, financiers, advisors and internal subject-matter experts. This is a high-level role which requires autonomy and strong commercial acumen. As you will be a key person for our customer relationships, there will also be an element of business development as well as customer relationship management.  This role will be global in nature and reports to an Amsterdam-based manager.

This is not a legal counsel role but due to the complex and high-value nature of the transactions, it is imperative that candidates have demonstrable experience with negotiating large-scale transactions and managing the issues that arise from such high-stakes transactions and therefore a legal transactional background will be very beneficial. 

 

Main responsibilities

/ Responsible for reviewing and negotiating one or more of the following: large-scale projects (renewables, infrastructure, PPP etc), EPC (engineer, procure, construct) contracts, build-to-suit contracts, real estate development and leasing contracts.

/ Manage and organize high value transaction projects quickly and effectively from onset through executions over a 6-12 month period

/ Responsible for gathering input across legal, tax, accounting and engineering to synthesize advice and apply to the practical commercial setting

/ Oversee and navigate new markets and new ideas and be able to implement crucial problem solving

/ Communicate and partner cross functionally across various teams, leaders and regions both internally and externally  

 

Qualifications and experience

/ 7+ years of experience in a law firm, corporate OR equivalent experience reviewing and negotiating contracts and/or project-managed large transactions

/ Formal professional training of some sort e.g. Engineering / Legal / Finance /Real Estate

/ Preferred experience with data centers or technical real estate 

/ Previous experience within commercial business (not just pure advisory/private practice)

/ Proven experience working within scale-ups and/or private businesses preferred

/ Ability to work internationally

/ Experience negotiating with technology customers or other types of entities with strong commercial bargaining power

/ Ability to learn new business and technical skills quickly and to adapt to changing environments

/ Ability to travel at least 30% of the time - as required
