The role
The Systems Account is responsible for developing systems and processes to ensure the effective and efficient processing of financial and non-financial data and to further extend the range of management tools and reports used to inform the business. In addition, the Systems Accountant will provide a combination of Business as Usual (BAU) support and the delivery of key finance projects within the current finance scope and system environment.
Main responsibilities
/ Support the Finance team in the implementation of new finance processes and/or the updating of existing processes where applicable.
/ Oversee, manage, review and challenge all appropriate requests for changes to Financial and Non-financial system processes with the relevant parties.
/ Work with Finance and the IFS Support team to ensure system roles and permissions are in line with delegated authorities and approval limits as well as the segregation of duties.
/ Support the Finance team in the documentation and testing of all applicable internal processes and procedures.
/ Work with the Group Finance Team and the applicable Finance teams to design and develop any applicable Finance reports which are to be used to better inform the business.
/ Work with the Group Finance Team to help reduce and where applicable, eliminate any manual and/or offline financial processing and information.
/ To instill a culture of robust control and efficiency throughout the business and work closely with the relevant teams to ensure this can be achieved.
/ Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date within the Finance function.
/ Provide a consistent and approachable point of contact for all stakeholders.
/ Liaise with external stakeholders where necessary including, but not limited to, departments, internal and external auditors and system developers in order to achieve these tasks.
Qualifications and experience
/ Formal accounting qualification.
/ At least 10 years’ experience working in a financial environment or finance function.
/ Direct experience of IFS ERP system
/ Experience of designing, implementing and managing finance processes and policies.
/ Experience of implementation and/or support of the applicable Finance module/function within the IFS ERP application.
