The Senior Manager position within YouGov's esteemed US Sport team requires an experienced professional with a robust background in research and analytics within the sports sector. Ideally, candidates should have extensive experience across various segments such as team management, league operations, agency work, or brand analysis, with a strong preference for familiarity with YouGov's data ecosystem. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are indispensable for effectively engaging stakeholders and tailoring presentations to diverse audiences.
Candidates should exhibit proficiency in overseeing services for prominent professional sports leagues, teams, and agency clients. A high level of expertise in Excel for data manipulation, along with the ability to collect, refine, and integrate diverse datasets, is a must. Strong project management abilities are essential for independently managing intricate projects or collaborating within a small team, which involves leading client interactions, conducting data analyses, and delivering comprehensive reports. Keeping abreast of emerging market research methodologies and continually refining existing techniques is imperative. Furthermore, staying abreast of the ever-evolving sports industry landscape across all its facets is vital for sustained success in this role.
What you will be doing:
- Utilizing YouGov’s syndicated market research tools, you will be required to look into trends, identify discrepancies and errors, and recommend client-focused research solutions
- Use syndicated market research tools (YouGov Profiles, BrandIndex, and others) to deliver in-season and out of season sponsorship reports & fan analyses to clients
- Service a portfolio of top-tier major professional sports leagues, teams, and agency accounts – both as a lead and as a support on all account types
- Line manage a team of 3-5 on an ongoing basis, providing strategic direction, onboarding, training, and overall support each day and week
- Work closely with the team's Director and Manager(s) to report project plans, resources and deliverables as well as address any issues
- Managing complex projects from start to finish either independently or as a small team which include leading client meetings, data analysis, and full reporting
- Keep up-to-date with new market research data insights techniques and models, including how they are relevant and applicable for the business, while seeking to continuously improve existing techniques and models
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years professional research and analytics experience on the team, league office, agency, or brand side (YouGov data experience a big plus)
- Ability to identify and analyze sport data trends (fandom, consumption, etc.), identify potential discrepancies and errors in data, and recommend client-focused research solutions
- Line manage responsibility for a team of 3-5, providing career development, onboarding, training, and overall support each day and week
- Strong, proven experience using Excel to manipulate data
- Keep up-to-date with current sport industry landscape in all facets (team performance, sport business trends, etc.)
For roles based in California, New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000.
Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
