About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our worldwide IT Operations team.
The ideal candidate will ideally be skilled in Microsoft Windows Server environments, but some Linux experience would also be beneficial.
You’ll be joining a very Linux focused team so there will be many chances for mutual knowledge sharing. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our Microsoft server architecture in VMWARE, AWS and Azure environments. All environments will be expanding over the coming months.
What you will do:
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Bring expertise in SSO, MFA and setting up of access policies with EntraID as well as Active Directory
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system administration tasks.
- Utilize expert-level skills in VMWare to manage and maintain virtualized environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot storage arrays to ensure efficient and reliable data storage. Specifically with large shared directory structures under Windows.
- Demonstrate proficiency in general networking concepts, including routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Apply knowledge of database systems, especially Msql, to support and optimize data-related tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement IT solutions to meet business needs.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve the IT infrastructure.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a System Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Windows Servers and VMWare.
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell for automation and system administration tasks.
- Hands-on experience with storage arrays and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in general networking concepts and configurations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, is highly beneficial.
- Database skills, particularly in SQL, would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, and AWS or Azure certifications are a plus
