Reporting to the Chief Governance & Compliance Officer, you'll lead the Compliance & ESG teams at YouGov, overseeing top-tier compliance and ESG activities globally. This role is perfect for someone with robust compliance leadership experience, a passion for data ethics, and prior exposure to ESG initiatives and reporting.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff): 

  • Risk Management
  • Lead on crisis management procedures, testing and training
  • Lead on the risk management procedure, including the Group Risk Register
  • Advise on potential governance and compliance risks and impacts

 

  • Internal Controls Monitoring and Enforcement
  • Support on continuous improvement efforts in respect of non-financial controls, and as part of this maintaining strong collaborative relationships with colleagues in IT, HR and Finance
  • Support on maintenance of standards certifications, such as ISO 27001
  • Ensure the business remains in compliance with adopted research industry codes of conduct
  • Conducting investigations, identifying compliance breaches and enforcing rectification
  • Ownership of, and/or supporting with, Governance department policies and training modules
  • Oversight of training mandatory training suite and completion rates
  • Oversight of the activities of the Ethics Committee, Sustainability Committee and whistleblowing procedure

 

  • Working with Third Parties
  • Management and enforcement of the group delegated authority rules
  • Management of the company’s process for engaging contractors and agency workers
  • Oversight of the company’s supplier approval process

 

  • Reporting
  • Oversight of compliance content on Corporate website and Intranet
  • Produce board and management reports on compliance, risk management and ESG activities and metrics

 

  • ESG
  • Oversight of the company’s ESG roadmap
  • Production of the annual ESG Report, ESG content for the Annual Report, and EGPG Report
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with ESG standards and regulations

 

  • Insurance
  • Oversee the Group’s global insurance programme and relationship with brokers
  • Management of renewal and internal communication of the global insurance programme

 

  • Line Management
  • Line manager of the Compliance and ESG team members

 

These are the essential you will need to get an interview:

  • 8-10+ years of experience working in compliance or related areas
  • 3-5 years experience leading a compliance team and developing compliance programmes
  • Strong knowledge of standards, laws and regulations relevant to YouGov as a global business
  • Proficiency in Excel with strong numerical and analytical abilities, as the role involves extensive data analysis

 

It would be great if you had these too, but we’ll support you if you don’t:

  • Familiarity with data protection and privacy regulations
  • Familiarity with market research standards and guidance
  • Experience in delivering compliance-related training
  • Professional certification in compliance
  • Experience in managing a global insurance programme
  • Familiarity with ESG regulations and standards
