Role overview:

As Sport Commercial Manager of YouGov Sport AUS, you will operate in a hybrid role with responsibilities that include client servicing for sports media clients and new business across the entire sports division. You must be highly motivated, experienced in account management and in sports media analysis, adept at selling market research and analytics tools, and capable of aligning these products to meet the marketing objectives of all types of sport and sport-adjacent organizations.

This role will report to the Head of YouGov Sport APAC and Media Director AUS.

Deliverables:

Client Servicing (Media)
• Analysis of linear TV and digital/online sponsorship performance within owned and earned media.
• Day-to-day project management includes interaction with internal and external stakeholders and operational teams in other countries.
• Report writing and presentation, and creating meaningful insight for clients.
• Communicate and coordinate sponsorship media research with clients, including project scopes, timelines, and key findings against expected results.

New Business
• Responding to inbound leads with energy and clarity
• Identifying potential clients and their decision makers through research and making proactive, out-bound reach-outs by phone, email, LinkedIn & networking
• Securing sales & discovery meetings with qualified prospects
• Leading your own sales meetings (with support initially from your Head of Sport and other subject matter experts within the team) and confidently presenting YouGov’s solutions to a range of senior clients (usually marketers, sponsorship professionals or research experts) in your allocated sectors
• Delivering compelling presentations and proposals
• Conducting follow-up discussions & negotiations
• Closing business to hit, if not exceed, your quarterly and annual sales targets
• Tracking your full volume of communications and activities in our Salesforce CRM - from opportunity initiation to close

Key responsibilities:
• Cross-platform media tracking and evaluation research – TV, social, digital etc.
• High-quality relationship management – ensuring successful client engagement.
• Extracting, connecting, and managing media data from a variety of sources.
• Digging into data to pull out meaningful insights re. ROI for media investments.
• Daily project management, liaising with internal data operations teams.
• Regular reporting via written reports, online dashboards, and strategic presentations.
• You will be a ‘sole contributor’ to the YouGov Sport AUS Commercial Team, meaning that you will have your own sales target to meet or exceed within any given quarter/ financial year
• You will be responsible for a couple of key new business areas (specific rights-holder, brand, media owner or agency sectors) and take ownership of all relevant outreach and opportunities in this space.
• You will be responsible for tracking sales activity and supporting the Head of Sport APAC with strategizing, planning and forecasting future sales and growth

Key skill requirements:
• Analytical, problem solving, attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience working in media evaluation, sponsorship, and/or market research.
• Experience with social media analytical tools and digital monitoring analysis.
• Strong commercial approach and sales experience
• Strong research, analysis (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and writing skills.
• Strong communicator and rapport builder, well-versed in active listening and a curiosity to find out the root behind consumer behaviors.
• Syndicated and custom consumer research knowledge
