YouGov monitors the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market in Belgium by tracking purchase behavior of 6.000 families. These households continuously register their grocery purchases via our YouGov Shopper app. The data collected from these daily purchases allows us to analyze market trends in Belgium and report our findings to clients, including manufacturers and retailers.

Role overview:

As a Product Classification Specialist, you will be part of our data management team, which is responsible for maintaining our databases of products and purchase records. Your main task will be to accurately code new products in our database. These products fall within the FMCG category, which includes everyday essential items commonly bought at supermarkets. Additionally, you will assist in checking and processing promotion data.

You Will:

  • Code new articles/FMCG products in different product groups, considering relevant features and values.
  • You continuously maintain, update and adjust classification of our product database.
  • Perform quality checks on purchase data, adhering to our rules and guidelines and by using our YouGov tools
  • Assist the team lead in various procedures to uphold our quality standards.

You Have:

  • You enjoy searching for the right information, and can combine different sources to complete our database.
  • You maintain focus while processing large amounts of data.
  • You are a native Dutch speaker and have a good command of English.
  • You are proactive and are not afraid to suggest improvements to existing procedures.
  • You possess excellent MS Office skills and quickly adapt to new tools and systems.
  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree is a strong asset, but a can-do attitude is most crucial.
